Manan Bajaj, Director at Tresbon Consulting Solutions and Services Private Limited, is our latest graduate of the BRC Global Standards Professional programme. Based in Mumbai, Manan is the second Professional to graduate in India. We had an opportunity to find out more about his role and what this qualification means to him.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT ROLE?

I am working as Director at Tresbon Consulting Solutions and Services Private Limited, a Management Consulting Firm involved in training and consulting of Various Food Safety Standards including and other standards. I am responsible for training and HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC Global Standards, USFDA FSMA PCHF as well as other standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA 8000/Sedex mostly in food, packaging and allied industries.
I am Lead Instructor for FSPCA PCHF Course as per USFDA FSMA requirement. I am registered as Senior Consultant with NBQP-QCI and I am a NLRP and master trainer for FOSTAC mandatory training program initiated by FSSAI- Govt. of India. I carry out training programs for Bakery and Storage and Transport for FOSTAC.

WHY DID YOU JOIN THE BRC GLOBAL STANDARDS PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME?

I have been in the Training and Consulting profile for more than 12 years now and I planned to get official professional recognition like this FSPCA Lead Instructor and BRC Certified Professional, to be ahead of others. It will assure our clients that they have appointed right people to guide them in development and deployment of systems in true spirit to achieve food safety and quality both.

WHAT VALUE DO YOU PERSONALLY FEEL THE BRC GLOBAL STANDARDS PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION BRINGS TO YOU?

It is always a fantastic feeling to get recognized for what you are doing at this kind of platform. The concept of giving a badge is excellent. I felt the journey for this qualification was unique and at the same time was not that easy. I felt a significant fine tuning happened in my knowledge and understanding of the subject matter as there was lot of interactions with people from other nations to understand the best practices.

HOW HAS/WILL THE RECOGNITION PROGRAMME IMPACT YOUR WORK?

It’s a great recognition I regularly visit new industries and people, when I introduce myself as probably the 2nd BRC Global Standards Professional in India I feel very honoured and admired. Everyone acknowledges my work and knowledge in a better way. I’m only one professional with qualification of BRC Certified Professional and FSPCA Lead Instructor in our country and I can guide my client in compliance to both the requirement in a better way.

WOULD YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE COMPONENT COURSES ANYWAY?

I have completed BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 8 - Lead Auditor Course, Root cause Analysis, Risk Assessment and Validation and Verification Course and I already did FSPCA PCHF Course. All courses are very well designed and I gained a good addition to my knowledge.

HOW DID YOU GET TO YOUR CURRENT ROLE?

Prior to becoming Founder Director of my current organization, I served to more than 200 clients as Trainer and Consultant through Paradigm Services for more than 10 years where I have seen considerable growth from Consultant to Vice President and in early days of my career I worked on different capacities at Kohinoor Foods Ltd, Bikanerwala Foods Pvt. Ltd., where I got exposure to different operations and processes and it helped me alot. I decided to take a challenge and initiate a new journey of my life. I am thankful that my current role enables me to learn new concepts, techniques, standards and methods adopted in different industries. I faced initial hurdles but very soon it all worked well. I am thankful to my parents, wife, my two kids and whole family who supported my entire journey in best possible manner.

WHAT IS YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND?

I have completed my Masters in Business Administration- Operation and Bachelors of Engineering- Food Technology.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER AMBITIONS/AIMS?

My aim is to train and raise awareness about food safety in India and outside India. I want to increase my understanding and knowledge of various Food safety standards and concepts at the best possible level. I would like contribute in changing the Food Safety/Quality Scenario in our country
